Verify the record behind the badge.

Check the holder, issuer, scope, validity dates, and current status before relying on a credential.

01 / Employer assurance

Start with the public ID.

A badge image is a convenient way to present an achievement. The credential record is the place to check it. Ask for the unique public ID or verification link and resolve the record through the issuer’s public verification page.

ValourSec’s register does not require a candidate account. The record identifies the holder and certification and shows issue and expiry information alongside the current status.

02 / Employer assurance

Check identity, scope, and currency.

Confirm that the credential holder matches the professional whose achievement you are evaluating. Read the certification title and scope, rather than interpreting a badge color or abbreviation as a capability claim.

A valid credential, an expired credential, and a revoked credential are different records. Check the current status and dates each time the distinction matters to a hiring, client, or development decision.

A practical checklist
  • The holder’s name matches the professional.
  • The unique public ID resolves through the issuer.
  • The certification scope is relevant to the work.
  • The status is valid and the expiry date has not passed.
  • The issuer’s scheme meets the requirement you are evaluating.
03 / Employer assurance

Use the credential in context.

Certification provides a defined assessment outcome. It does not replace work samples, references, experience, or your own role-specific evaluation. Consider the credential alongside other evidence of professional capability.

ValourSec is the issuer of ValourSec credentials. A syllabus covering an ISO standard is not itself evidence of external accreditation. Where an employer or contract requires a particular accreditation or approval, check that requirement directly with the issuer and the relevant authority.
